Our mission
Stray to Play Rescue is a volunteer-driven, foster-based dog rescue rooted in compassion, second chances, and the belief that every dog deserves a life filled with love and play. We're not just about saving lives; we're about transforming them.
Max is a 1.5-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. He gets along great with other dogs and absolutely adores people. Whether he's making new friends or soaking up attention, Max is happiest when he's with his humans.
He walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, and loves spending his time chewing on his favorite toys. With his sweet personality and easygoing nature, Max would make the perfect companion for an active family or anyone looking for a loyal best friend.
Sadly, Max is now our longest resident and it's through absolutely no fault of his own. Sometimes the best dogs get overlooked simply because they've been waiting the longest. We know his perfect family is out there, we just need to help them find him.

Second chance stories
Every rescue starts somewhere hard. With medical care, patience, and a foster who believed in them, these dogs found their second chance.
Second chanceWhen Rue came to us, she was starving, covered in fleas and worms, losing her hair from painful skin infections, and too weak to stand. Years of neglect left her with severe nerve damage in both back legs. Today, Rue is healthy, gaining strength in her legs, walking without limping, and finally beginning to heal. Every day, more of her sweet personality shines through.
Second chanceBenny's story is nothing short of miraculous. He came into rescue after being shot and left paralyzed, with very little hope for a future. After months of rehab, love, and determination, Benny regained the ability to walk. Today he's not only walking but running with his new fursiblings and his forever family — living proof of what rescue, patience, and compassion can do.
Second chanceYoda was just trying to protect her owner during an attack at a homeless encampment when she was shot, leaving her leg broken in half. She was placed on the euthanasia list immediately. After a $9,000 surgery and months of recovery, Yoda never stopped fighting. Today she's thriving on all four legs and finally living the life she deserves.
Second chanceGiselle came to us abandoned, suffering, and barely hanging on. She was battling severe flea and tick infestations, demodex mange, anemia, and painful skin infections. Today, she's finally safe, receiving medical care, gaining strength, and learning how to just be a dog again. With the love of her foster family and support from our community, Giselle is beginning to heal.
