Meet Koda Blue!
Some dogs are good dogs. Some dogs are great dogs. And then there’s Koda Blue.
Koda Blue is a 2-year-old Husky who is quite possibly one of the sweetest, most easygoing dogs we’ve ever met. She loves car rides, camping trips, evening walks, lazy days on the couch, and cuddling up to watch TV. The truth is, Koda doesn’t really care what you’re doing—as long as she gets to do it with you. She is happiest simply being by your side.
Sadly, Koda found herself in a shelter six months ago when her family surrendered her. While many dogs would have let that experience break their spirit, not Koda. She remained happy, loving, and full of life every single day.
In fact, Koda became such a trusted member of the shelter community that she earned an important role: shelter dog tester. She was the dog staff relied on to help evaluate new arrivals because she was so friendly, predictable, and dog-social. Koda took her responsibilities seriously, greeting new canine residents with patience and helping them feel safe during a scary transition.
But even wonderful dogs aren’t always safe in overcrowded shelters. After six months, Koda found herself scheduled for euthanasia.
Thankfully, one of our close friends and shelter volunteers had completely fallen in love with her and couldn’t bear to see her story end that way. We were contacted, and there was no way we were leaving Koda behind.
Since joining the rescue, Koda has continued to prove what an incredible dog she is. She’s potty trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on a leash, is spayed, heartworm negative, and current on all vaccines and preventatives. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is the kind of dog who makes friends wherever she goes.
Koda would prefer a home without cats, and while very young children can make her a little nervous with all the chaos and commotion, she does great with older children.
