About Houdini

Meet Houdini!

Houdini is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees puppy with a story that could have ended very differently.

For months, this sweet boy was seen roaming neighborhoods all alone, clearly dumped and trying to survive on his own. A Good Samaritan alerted us, and an incredible woman named Deborah stepped in to help. What followed became quite the adventure. One day he would be spotted in his usual areas roaming around, and by the time anyone went to find him, he had mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Over and over again, this went on for weeks, earning him the name Houdini.

But Deborah refused to give up on him.

After weeks of tireless effort, patience, and determination, she finally brought him safely to us. And when Houdini arrived at our vet, it was clear this sweet boy had been surviving on his own for far too long. Beneath his fluffy coat he was severely underweight and emaciated. His fur was matted, and his little body was completely covered in fleas and ticks.

Despite everything he had been through, Houdini never lost his gentle spirit.

This beautiful boy is an absolute love. He adores people and affection and has the sweetest habit of simply walking up, leaning his whole body into you and melting into your side as if he’s been waiting his entire life for someone to love him. He has such a soft, gentle soul and just wants to be close to his people.

Houdini is wonderful with kids, gets along great with other dogs, and we think he would likely do just fine with cats, although he hasn’t officially been cat tested yet. He’s doing great on a leash and appears to be potty trained too!

At only 10 months old, Houdini still has plenty of puppy left in him, but he’s already shown us what an incredible dog he is. After spending months alone, hungry, and forgotten, Houdini is finally ready for the thing he’s been searching for all along — a family of his own.

And we have a feeling whoever adopts him is going to hit the jackpot. He is absolute perfection.
